Clear aligners
Clear, removable aligners. For adults too, and for when the mouth needs straightening before implants go in.
How it works
Your mouth is scanned and a series of clear trays is made. Each one moves the teeth a little. They are changed every one or two weeks and have to be worn 20 to 22 hours a day: they come out to eat and to brush, and for nothing else.
That number is the whole treatment. If the trays are worn fewer hours, the teeth do not move as planned and the schedule stretches. It is the one treatment on our list where the result depends more on you than on us.
Retention. When you finish you have to wear a retainer, usually at night and for life. Teeth tend to drift back, and this is not an optional suggestion. The first set is included in the price.Who it makes sense for
- Crowding or gaps that bother you when you look in the mirror.
- A bite that wears some teeth down more than others.
- Adults who ruled out metal braces for work or appearance.
- Before an implant, when the gap has closed and has to be opened up for the tooth to fit.
How it will go, visit by visit
Worth knowing
- Complex bite problems may need braces or an orthodontist. If that is your case, we will say so and refer you.
- Sometimes small bumps are bonded to the teeth so the tray can grip. They are tooth-coloured and come off at the end.
- At first there is pressure, and speaking is awkward for a couple of days with each new tray. It passes.
- The price depends on the number of trays, not on how long it takes. We give it to you fixed from the start.
